Everybody Has A Calling In Life

Everyone has a calling in life and your job is to figure out what that calling is and start doing what your purpose is in life.

“I believe there’s a calling for all of us. I know that every human being has value and purpose. The real work of our lives is to become aware. And awakened. To answer the call.”
– Oprah Winfrey

Calling is passion and its about that you are exactly where you are supposed to be and do what you are suppossed to do. We all have the power to change someone’s life. Some people might get paid for it but this is not true for everyone. Following your calling is not always what your profession is and it definitely does not have to be paid.

Everyone has a purpose in life, and figuring that one out will not only serve the world but will also give you fullfillment in life. It will make you feel complete and satisfied. Reaching someone in a way only you could reach, in that special moment and at that special place is something very rewarding. Helping people can be so easy sometimes, some people only need to be listened to, others need a little inspiration to experience an AHA moment, and others will be touched and reached by you but are not even aware of your influence on them. And any of those is fine because it does not matter how you reach them, the important thing is having a good heart and good intentions in the perfect constellation that fits your personality, and all the magic comes automatically.

Following your calling means following your heart. I do not say that following your heart means following your emotions, as emotions are made in your brain through neuronal connections and not your heart, as most people might think. Your heart is not following an emotional or logical strategy. The heart is following your calling and what  your purpose in life is.

People often look at me and judge me: Why was I not happy with what I was doing, what was I still looking for? Why couldn’t I just settle for what I was doing and what I had? Why did I have to add a bachelors of honors to my regular bachelor of science degree, why did I have to choose a double masters degree in another field and go into medicine? Why am I still not happy with the choice I made? The decisions I made were from my heart, wasn’t I?
The answer is easy! Following my heart did bring me closer to what my calling was but I skipped a level there. First I had to figure out what my calling exactly was before jumping into the water. If you follow your heart without knowing what your purpose is you will feel lost. You know who you are and you know your qualities. However, you still do not know how you want to perform on the stage of life.

Most people never get in touch with their inner selves, while others struggle many years  to connect to their hearts. It is important to keep listening to your heart and allow other people with a calling touch your heart and let them be your inspirations and triggers either to find your calling or the stage you will perform on.

“I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint – and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you. ”
― Oprah Winfrey

This is a post triggered by my friend and inspired by Oprah Winfrey.
